과연 길 저편의 전봇대 뒤에 꼬마 둘이 서 있었다. 우리들의 시선이 그들에게로 쏠리자 그 두 명의 꼬마는 무슨 잘못이라도 저지른 사람같이 전봇대 뒤로 몸을 숨기고 있는 것이 아닌가. 나는 그 두 명의 아이가 틀림없이 '좋은 아이'라고 생각했다. 전봇대 뒤에 숨어서 기다리고 있는 그들의 마음씨야말로 딱할 정도로 착한 것이 아닐 수 없다. As expected, two kids were standing behind the pole by the side of the road. All eyes turned upon them and found that they were hiding behind the pole as if they did something wrong. I thought that the two kids were 'good guys' for sure. They were indeed 'pitifully' good enough to wait, hiding themselves behind the pole, being shy. 전봇대 뒤에 있는 두 명의 신입회원을 이리로 데려오기 위하여 4명의 꼬마가 모두 달려갔다. 내가 이 두 명의 꼬마와 악수를 하고 나자 그제야 이 두 명에 대한 칭찬과 자랑을 늘어놓기 시작하는 것이다.
